Every year we hold our annual Sierra Stone & Rubber Stone Dealer Convention at the end of February, and this year’s convention was a great success! Even though we talk to most of the convention attendees on a regular basis as part of doing business together, it’s always a pleasure to sit down with so many of our dealers in person and talk face-to-face. It’s even more exciting to watch as the dealers come together and exchange ideas with one another: newer dealers bring a fresh perspective to the existing status-quo, and the established dealers bring years (and in some cases decades) of knowledge and experience to help new dealers start-off on the right foot and avoid typical “rookie” mistakes. We have received numerous comments from dealers who were excited by the information presented, some by the R&D projects we unveiled, others by the potential of new product lines being added in 2014, and still others by the great ideas that were presented during discussion time.
It’s already clear that the excitement generated at our convention is influencing our impact in the marketplace. Last year we had record-breaking orders from our dealers, both new and old, but this year we’re starting off with orders that are the largest we’ve ever seen! Initially we thought that one or two dealers were just starting off with a really good year, but as the weeks have continued on we have seen more and more large orders coming in while there are still snowbanks surrounding our office! Dealers are calling-in to tell us that they are amazed at the amount of traffic at each homeshow; business cards are flying-off the tables by the hundreds and they are giving away thousands of brochures.
